Antidiskriminierungsstelle

The anti-discrimination officer supports all members of and visitors to Technische Universität Berlin in issues relating to anti-discrimination and provides confidential advice regarding discrimination for both direct victims and those who have witnessed incidents.

The counselling of the Landesvereinigung Selbsthilfe Berlin e.V. is aimed at people from Berlin who are discriminated regarding any disability, chronic illness or age, as well as their relatives and multipliers.

The State Representative for People with Disabilities offers counselling service for all people in the Land of Berlin who believe that the rights of people with disabilities have been violated. Referral advice only.

The federal anti-discrimination office provides counselling and information referring any sort of discrimination. It also offers support to find a local counselling centre.

Social and BAföG Advising

The General Students' Commitee (the AStA, short for Allgemeiner Studierendenausschuss) represents the students of the Technische Universität Berlin and offers a social and BAföG advising. You have to book an appointment online.

The studierendenWERK Berlin also offers social counselling on topics such as financing options for your studies, BAföG, health insurance, housing and child benefit.

Counselling Centre for Barrier-free Studies - studierendenWERK Berlin (Charlottenburg)

The Counselling Centre support you in questions about: 

  • inclusion support services (study assistants, technical aids, book allowance, sign language interpreting, speech-to-text reporter)
  • barrier-free housing
  • study financing with disabilities

Peer Counseling on topics such as rehabilitation and participation of people with disabilities.

Studying with Disabilities – Information and Advice Center (IBS)

Research, information, advice, networking – the information and advice centre’s tasks are comprehensive and diverse. It is funded by the Ministry for Education and Research and is Germany’s national centre of competence for ‘studying with disabilities’ issues.

Psychological Counseling

Who completes their studies without a hitch? The demands of studying and also life can be difficult. TU Berlin Psychological Counseling supports you in crisis situations, both study-related and personal. 

If you are experiencing an acute psychological crisis, you can contact the Social-Psychiatric Services (SPD) of the Berlin districts or the the Berlin Crisis Service (Berliner Krisendienst).

The Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Selbsthilfe (BAG) is the head organization of around 120 self-help organizations in Germany.
