You have chosen a degree program at TU Berlin, fulfill the admission requirements, and would like to apply. Now what?

You can directly enroll in free admission degree programs without first applying. This means you submit an application for enrollment.

If you would like to apply for a restricted admission degree program, you can increase your chance of admission by submitting one or more special applications (formerly referred to as special requests).

Special applications are part of the application documents. What special application can you apply for?

Applicants with a German higher education entrance qualification

When applying for a bachelor’s program:

  • Application for improvement of grade point average
  • Application for adjustment due to delayed university entrance qualification
  • Application for consideration due to exceptional circumstances

When applying for a master’s program:

  • Application for consideration due to exceptional circumstances

Applicants with an international higher education entrance qualification

  • Regardless of your nationality, as an applicant with an international university entrance qualification you must apply via uni-assist.
  • You cannot submit a special request. An advance quota is already offered to you.
  • If you have questions about the application and required documents, please contact Undergraduate Admissions - international or Graduate Admission.

Detailed information about special applications (forms, steps, etc.) is available on Undergraduate Admissions and Graduate Admissions’ web pages.

Please pay attention to the applicable application periods and deadlines.

We advise you on which special requests you are eligible for and how to submit them (justification, required proof).
